Commonly Asked Questions

Do I need previous experience with yoga?

Previous yoga experience is not necessary. Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) and Yoga Services are appropriate for all experience levels (ranging from beginner to advanced practitioner).

Each session is tailored with your personal needs in mind.

If I have an injury or a condition, can I still do this practice?

Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) and Yoga Services can be appropriate for those with physical disabilities and injuries (recovering shoulder injury) to those who have chronic illnesses (fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome). Each session is designed specifically to client’s skill level, range of motion and condition in mind. It is all working toward restoring balance in the body.

I am not a doctor or a physical therapist; therefore, it is always recommended that you check with your health practitioner before beginning yoga to see if yoga is right for you.

Initial Paperwork

For your initial session please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the appropriate paperwork.

What do I need to bring with me to session?

Wear comfortable clothing and bring any completed paperwork to first session.

If you do not have a chance to complete paperwork prior, please arrive 15 minutes in advance to your initial appointment.

Since yoga is not traditionally practiced on a full stomach, it is recommended that you don’t eat a heavy meal prior at least 1-2 hours prior to your session.

What to expect

Each individual is unique and will have his/her own experience.

Sessions will have a combination of traditional talk therapy, yogic movement and breathwork.

Our initial sessions together may lend themselves to more talk therapy as we better establish your needs.

Yoga and breathwork exercises will be integrated and personalized for our continued sessions.

Practicing and employing the techniques, yoga or breathwork from our sessions, in your everyday life, may be requested, but never demanded.

We can meet as little or often as you desire.

I encourage clients to come with an open mind and heart as that is the first step toward healing.
